Description

Kaypacha is a nonprofit organization founded in Lyon in 2023. We offer walking (or cycling) tours to meet local experts and discover inspiring local initiatives, with the aim of raising awareness about environmental and social issues and encouraging people to take action toward a more ecological, supportive, and inclusive society.

FACILITATING ACTION

Led by members of the organization, these group explorations draw on the principles of community education to inspire participants to take steps toward an ecological and socially just transition. Each day is a learning experience—educational, immersive, and friendly—designed to spark questions, discussions, and sharing. Thus, each of these gatherings aims to foster awareness of one’s individual and collective power to act, as well as provide the impetus to take action and transform one’s own lifestyle.

OUR ACTIVITIES

Themed hikes: Day-long walking or cycling routes punctuated by stops to explore a theme or itinerary in depth. From 20 to 200 participants!

Micro-adventure: A two-day adventure for an even more immersive experience, led by local experts to help participants better understand the areas they explore.

Participatory walks: Everyone has something to share about their neighborhood! Walks co-created with young people, school groups, or local residents.

Customized services: Itineraries for the general public (local governments, associations) or for a more targeted audience (professional networks, companies, institutions). We adapt our approach to meet your specific needs.

One-off events:

Join us in April and September in western Lyon to discuss agriculture and food! (Four days of walking in the western part of the Lyon metropolitan area to explore the region’s peri-urban, natural, and agricultural landscapes. Routes featuring encounters with farmers and local initiatives)

Kaypacha will be at the MJC de Montchat on Friday, April 17, for the opening night of the “Festival du Voyage Engagé” organized by On the Green Road. An evening dedicated to “Daring to Travel on Foot,” featuring a film screening, meet-and-greets, and a roundtable discussion.
