AMAPs (Associations for the Preservation of Small-Scale Farming) are solidarity-based partnerships between one or more farmers and a group of citizens
They exist throughout France
- Concrete support for farmers, to promote the preservation and development of SMALL-SCALE, ECOLOGICAL, and PROFITABLE agriculture for farmers
- Direct and contract-based sales: A system of DIRECT and CONTRACT-BASED SALES, without intermediaries—and therefore without markups—between farmers and AMAP members
- good products : A way for consumers to get GOOD PRODUCTS : fresh, local, and high-quality, at fair prices
In this partnership, everyone commits to:
- Farmers commit to regularly delivering healthy, fresh, and local products grown on their farms.
- Citizens (known as “Amapians”) commit to paying in advance for a certain number of baskets, based on a subscription model.
Through regularly delivered baskets, this system allows:
- farmers to be fairly and equitably compensated, and to have financial visibility thanks to the predictability of sales.
- for AMAP members to purchase quality products at a fair price, while being informed about their origin and how they were produced.
- for everyone to meet, exchange ideas, and share knowledge and practices, as well as enjoy shared, convivial moments.
