The UMR Water Management, Actors, Uses, brings together 90 permanent researchers and engineers and about 50 doctoral and postdoctoral students from all disciplines working together on issues of integrated and adaptive water management. It conducts research on the trajectories of socio-hydrosystems and their regulation; it contributes to the design and evaluation of tools facilitating the implementation of innovative public policies regarding water; it participates in multidisciplinary training for students in the field of water.
The UMR draws on expertise in three disciplinary fields: Science and Technology, Life and Environmental Sciences, and Humanities and Social Sciences.
G-EAU also draws on a fourth field, that of interfaces: methods for integrating heterogeneous knowledge—such as that developed in the relevant disciplinary fields—to advance interdisciplinary research.
The UMR participates in numerous research programs and develops partnerships with French socio-economic sectors and scientific communities in Europe and around the world.
