The Potential Biodiversity Index (PBI) is a tool that enables forest managers to easily incorporate common taxonomic biodiversity into their day-to-day management practices.
This indicator, which is simple and quick to assess, makes it possible to evaluate a forest stand’s potential to support living organisms (plants, birds, insects, etc.) and to identify areas for improvement during silvicultural operations.
