Mission and Values
Bio 46 works to promote agriculture and food systems that serve the public interest, and to create economic, environmental, and social value in our regions.
Bio 46’s missions encompass all factors that support the development of organic agriculture:
- Supporting farmers
- Supporting farmers in their transition to organic farming and project leaders in establishing organic operations.
- Training and facilitating the exchange of technical knowledge.
- Providing technical support to organic producers: individual and group counseling, exchange days, training sessions, etc.
- Innovate through experimentation and research
- Set up experiments or trials on farms.
- Build relationships with research stakeholders.
- Informing farmers about technical innovations and regulatory developments: organizing conferences and technical meetings, writing articles in technical journals (Mag de la conversion, etc.)
Defend the interests of farmers and citizens
- Representing organic agriculture before elected officials, public authorities, and the agricultural sector.
- Defending the economic, social, cultural, material, legal, and moral interests of organic farmers.
- Mobilize farmers, partners, and citizens around issues related to the development of organic farming in the public interest to protect the environment, localize the economy, and rebuild social ties.
- Participate in discussions about the agriculture of tomorrow to collectively build a different model, a different kind of agriculture.
Contribute to structuring the sectors
- implementing projects to structure the sector from production through processing to distribution.
- Advocate for the equitable development of supply chains and distribution (ensuring fair, remunerative prices for producers).
Supporting the development of public policies in favor of organic farming
- Advise and assist local authorities in developing their regional plans (studies, assessments, summaries)
- Boost the local economy, job creation, the region’s attractiveness, and social well-being through the development of organic farming.
- Ensure the balanced development of the organic sector in the region and offer everyone healthy, local, and environmentally friendly food.
