Description

Across France, thousands of farmers share the same philosophy about their work, employing practices that respect both the environment and consumers.  What unites them today was their encounter with Marcel Mézy, who enabled them to make the most of their soil’s natural potential and to produce just as much without chemicals.  Confident in the quality of their produce and aware of the significant role they now play in French agriculture, many of them had long wished to come together within an association.

This approach—which is at once agronomic, economic, and environmental—combines respect for the land, product quality, and food safety. It can also contribute to the sustainability of farms, which is essential for the balance of rural areas.

From the field to the table

These are events designed to bring farmers and consumers together to discuss key topics such as agricultural practices, food, health, and the environment.

Raising awareness, opening up the debate, and making the latest scientific and technological information accessible to the general public—these are the objectives that drive the organization of these “From Soil to Plate” conferences.

Below, we offer you the recordings and related resources for these events.

Farmers’ Health

The Association for the Health of the Earth and Living Beings, drawing on the expertise of its Scientific Committee members, offers its members—as well as the general public—several health topics specific to farmers.

These notes provide an overview of the diseases most commonly encountered among farmers and within their families—who are also at risk—and propose solutions.

Synthetic meat

In recent years, we have begun to hear about a product referred to by its developers as “synthetic meat,” developed in a laboratory using the latest biotechnological innovations to replace meat of animal origin.  These products, which use animal cells and are known as “in vitro meat” or “synthetic meat,” do not come from muscle tissue derived from the carcasses of animals born, raised, and slaughtered in the traditional manner.  They should not be marketed and sold under the term “meat.”
