Yalinnove is a nonprofit organization born from a simple yet ambitious dream: to reconcile humanity with nature.
The Forest of Delightsis a forest garden designed with educational, social, environmental, and food-producing purposes. Its goal is to develop and experiment with the introduction of rare species adapted to climate change. This includes experimenting with various agricultural and permaculture techniques, inspired by multiple schools of ecological thought.
In addition, it also serves as a sanctuary for wildlife and endangered species, thanks to the creation of a space dedicated to the development of a primary forest. This ambitious project aims not only to enrich our biodiversity but also to provide a place for learning and raising awareness about environmental protection. Numerous workshops complement the project, transforming this space into a true hub for encounters and exchanges. The tree sponsorship initiative. We also aim to rediscover and promote ancestral skills, such as the making of oyas and pottery, using clay sourced from the Forêt des Délices. Integrating low-tech solutions into the project is also one of our goals.
The Forêt des Délices consists of two main areas:
- A first zone (photo on the left) in the upper part where we have established the forest garden with a wide variety of species, In the northernmost area, we find the high canopy with the largest trees, such as walnut trees, for example.
- A second zone (photo on the right) located below, where we have planted native species. The idea is to allow for the regeneration of a primary forest.
The Rain Highway: A Pivotal Project for a Strategic Region.
The Rain Highway is a project aimed at adapting our landscapes to increase climate connectivity and generate coolness and humidity. Based on the observation that the Basque Country is one of the main entry points for precipitation into the region and that the Massif Central lies at the heart of three major French watersheds, our goal is to connect these two areas through a continuous vegetation corridor.
