Support and promote the growth of organic production

The Hérault CIVAM Bio is a non-profit organization established in 1986 by organic farmers, representing all local agricultural production.  Today, it has approximately 300 members: farmers, project leaders, businesses, and consumers.

Objectives

- Support the development of organic production.

- Participate in the organization of supply chains.

- Promote organic products.

Missions 

- Support conversion to and establishment in organic farming: conversion information center, training, consultations, technical workshops.

- Unite and support the development of organic farmers: newsletters, price monitoring, technical fact sheets and guides, monitoring of support programs.

- Promote the organic farming approach:  organizing the Estivale de la Bio, an annual departmental organic festival, participating in and/or supporting various events (Rando Bio, Vincoeurs et Saveurs…), producing and providing communication materials free of charge.

- Raising awareness and supporting farmers in sustainable development: disseminating information, conducting training sessions, assessments, and producing brochures.

- Supporting regional projects in the Hérault for the local development of organic agriculture: informing and raising awareness among elected officials, supporting local projects, conducting assessments and studies
