French Federation of Nature and Environmental Protection Associations.

France Nature Environnement is the French federation of nature and environmental protection associations. 

We are the spokesperson for a movement of 6,329 associations, grouped within 48 member organizations, present throughout France, both on the mainland and in the overseas territories.

In the face of health and environmental risks, we ensure the application of the principles of prevention, precaution, and responsibility. We defend the public interest and citizen participation.

France Nature Environnement’s work is organized around 10 thematic networks. For each of them, a national team mobilizes the federation’s expertise and coordinates a network of volunteers from member associations.

Agriculture

The mission of France Nature Environnement’s agriculture network is to promote agroecology, with a focus on soil conservation, food security, and resilience to climate change

Biodiversity

Understanding, preserving, restoring, and promoting biodiversity—the foundation of sustainable development—is the goal of the Biodiversity Network and its 840 volunteer and staff representatives spread across the country.

Water and Aquatic Environments

The Water and Aquatic Environments network monitors water quality, ensures sufficient water quantity, and safeguards the health of aquatic biodiversity.

Energy

Making society more energy-efficient and accelerating the transition. Developing renewable, decentralized, and community-based energy. Accelerating the reduction of nuclear power’s share.

Forests

To protect forests from the impacts of climate change, it is crucial to promote sustainable management that integrates ecological and climate issues and the preservation of biodiversity.  This involves strengthening local governance models and forestry policies.

Created during the Grenelle de la Mer in 2009, the Oceans, Seas, and Coasts Network is involved in numerous issues:  strategic documents for coastal zones and maritime basins, marine renewable energy, marine protected areas, marine biodiversity, etc. It participates in all national bodies established since 2009

Waste Prevention and Management

The primary objective of the Waste Prevention and Management Network (PGD Network) is to promote production and consumption models that are more resource-efficient and less polluting. To this end, it advocates for waste reduction at the source

Industrial Risks and Impacts

The Industrial Risks and Impacts Network (RII) aims to promote a model of industry that is as clean as possible, limiting its impact on the environment (in water, air, and soil) and the risks of accidents at the source

Health and Environment

Created in 1997, the health network, supported by a coordinator and a staff project manager, works to limit or eliminate exposure to toxic and hazardous substances that affect our well-being and health

Sustainable Territories and Mobility

In their living space, everyone seeks and must find a healthy environment, accessible essential services, means of mobility, a pleasant, enriching, and safe living environment, places for meeting and rest, cultural and recreational activities,  a beautiful landscape…
