Description

La Vigie de l’Eau is an independent, nonprofit association dedicated to scientific and technical culture, as well as environmental and sustainable development education.
It is recognized as an “association of general interest.”

 

Our missions

  • To promote understanding of the environment, particularly water in all its forms, as well as the responsible management of natural resources.
  • Raise awareness among all audiences about major environmental issues and the actions being taken at the local, regional, and global levels
  • To promote a scientific approach to the environment, including through playful, sensory, and experiential activities,
  • Raise awareness among all audiences about the impact of human actions on the environment and encourage adaptations and behavioral changes
  • To be an active participant in the dialogue between science and society by organizing debates, exhibitions, training sessions, experimental workshops, etc.
  • To harness innovative technologies for science communication and promote their use.
  • Introduce people to the scientific method.

To best fulfill its missions, La Vigie de l’Eau has established a scientific advisory board composed of about ten researchers working in public institutions across various disciplines.

 

La Vigie de l’Eau is:

A 550-square-meter interactive space located in the Galerie Thermale de Vittel, featuring:

A permanent exhibition featuring interactive displays (touchscreens and immersive and virtual reality applications) that trace the journey of water in our societies.

  • Experimental workshops capable of accommodating groups.
  • Meeting rooms
  • A “Everyone’s a Researcher” lab equipped with high-performance equipment.
  • 3 permanent employees and a team of active volunteers
