Our Missions
Consign’Up was born out of a desire to take concrete action for the ecological transition by reducing waste through the reintroduction of a deposit-return system in Toulouse and the Occitanie region.
This citizen-led initiative has launched this new local system for the reuse of glass bottles through cooperation among various stakeholders in the region.
Beyond its goal of reducing environmental impact, Consign’Up also helps promote local and responsible consumption.
Our cooperative offers its services to producers and distributors in Western Occitanie who wish to reduce their environmental impact by offering local and responsible products.
Consign’Up’s goal is to enable the reuse of packaging by involving all stakeholders in the supply chain: consumers, producers, distributors, businesses, and local authorities.
Reuse to reduce our environmental impact
Every year in France, 2.5 million tons of glass are collected, representing half of the total household packaging tonnage. The glass collected in this way is recycled and contributes to a circular economy whose environmental footprint remains significant.
In fact, manufacturing recycled glass bottles requires a melting temperature of 1,500°C for 24 hours and the systematic addition of virgin raw materials.
Whereas a glass bottle can be washed in water at 80°C for 20 minutes before being reused up to 30 times.
The development of the local reuse sector in our region helps promote local products that meet the sustainable consumption expectations of a very large number of consumers.
Furthermore, the organization of shared logistics involving local partner companies promotes economic vitality in our region.
