e-graine is a community-based movement for public education that supports civic engagement to build more welcoming, supportive, and responsible communities. Through educational projects, we give everyone the tools to understand societal issues and become agents of change.
Our community-based movement draws its strength from the number and variety of the organizations that make it up.
In 2024, the e-graine movement consists of nine local associations—two of which are emerging—and a core network association.
It also relies on specialized organizations in the Social and Solidarity Economy.
An e-graine is an association of individuals who share the same convictions and wish to transform their local communities through education. The governance of the e-graine movement aims to be citizen-centered, participatory, and transparent, as part of a process of continuous learning and improvement.
All e-graine associations apply the following rules: voluntary membership open to all, transparency in selfless management, and participatory governance based on the principle of “one person = one vote.”
“ Being part of the e-graine association movement means being able to share, exchange, debate, revisit, modify, promote, build upon, appreciate, and reflect on activists, volunteers, staff, ideas, actions, and projects across all our e-graine associations in the region. ” Etienne Cordier, e-graine coordinator for Hauts-de-France
