Since 2010, when our association’s bylaws were “revised” and we obtained recognition as a public interest organization, we have been committed to prioritizing awareness-raising and education through targeted initiatives, with the aim of helping as many people as possible—regardless of age—learn more about bees.
Learning about bees, better understanding their place and importance within biodiversity. Realizing just how essential their role as pollinators is to our lives. With bees, it’s easier to “trigger” an emotional response because, even though they sting us (from time to time), they give us honey and, through that, make themselves very likable!
But it’s not just bees that face disturbances and threats; all pollinating insects are part of the same problem. A pesticide that kills a bee will just as surely kill all pollinating insects with the same efficiency—and far beyond that, earthworms, small rodents, birds... and so on.
