We are working to harness our region’s abundant sunshine by involving as many citizens as possible in the Energie en Toit association.
To facilitate the installation of renewable energy systems, Energie en Toit established the SAS Energies Montpellier Collectif Citoyens (EMC2) in 2018 to serve as the project owner and operator of these installations. EMC2 raises the necessary investment funds from residents of the metropolitan area. These residents then become members of EMC2 and participate democratically in the company’s decision-making processes.
Energie en Toit is an association that brings together citizens, experts, and institutional partners (the Occitanie region, Ademe) around a common goal: accelerating the decarbonization of the region. Drawing on the recommendations of the IPCC, we are working toward a future where renewable energy is at the heart of the energy model.
