Description

Ecologic is a French non-profit environmental organization authorized by the government to manage operational systems for the prevention, collection, and recycling of used or end-of-life products in the sectors of household appliances, electronics, digital technology, air conditioning, mobility, sports, tools, and leisure.

In accordance with the principle of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) and Article L541-10 of the Environmental Code, Ecologic manages three of the 18 existing “EPR” streams:

  • Electrical and Electronic Equipment (EEE);
  • Sports and Leisure Articles (SLA)
  • DIY and Garden Equipment (ABJ), for equipment powered by internal combustion engines (rotary tillers, leaf blowers, lawn mowers, etc.). End-of-life combustion-powered DIY and Garden Products are sources of pollution and waste if not recycled properly.

    This equipment must be sorted for separate collection and processing. To prevent pollution and the waste of raw materials, let’s recycle them!

83,830.13 tons of electrical waste collected since January 2025

The Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE)

Recycling activities have historically provided employment opportunities that facilitate the integration of socially disadvantaged groups. By adapting its operations to local contexts, Ecologic prioritizes local solutions for collection, reuse, and processing and relies on existing partnerships between local governments and SSE organizations.

For dismantling, logistics, and processing operations, Ecologic also works with social integration companies that reserve a portion of their jobs for people facing challenges.

When dropped off at one of the 32,000 drop-off points set up by the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) recycling sector, your broken, damaged, or used electrical appliances—if they cannot be repaired—will be collected, decontaminated, and recycled.

The recovered materials will thus help produce new equipment without relying on new resources, thereby limiting pollution associated with mining and the waste of materials.

Since 2006 and the implementation of specific environmental regulations, recycling has been carried out locally throughout France and in certain neighboring countries (particularly for certain materials requiring special treatment).
