Description

The Tacot Orchard

Restoration of a former village orchard to create a space for sharing, raising awareness, and experimenting with environmentally friendly farming practices.

A shared commitment: taking action at our own level for sustainable development!

A project: to reclaim an abandoned orchard, get our hands dirty, and transform it into a place for sharing, experimentation, and raising awareness about sustainable farming practices.

Our inspirations: respect for nature and the soil, agroecology, permaculture, Living Soil Gardening, short supply chains, inclusion, knowledge sharing…

In February 2019, we founded the community project “Le Verger du Tacot” (Frans 01480).

We took over an abandoned 3,500-square-meter orchard that now includes a forest and a vegetable garden, all part of a sustainable agriculture initiative.

Our priority is to preserve life, soil fertility, and existing biodiversity.

Thus, we use no chemical treatments, we consistently prioritize biodiversity and the existing natural environment, and we promote ground cover (green manure or mulching).
