Description

WATERFRONT

Explore, learn, take action: education that flows with the water. Based in Toulouse, we offer activities for all ages focused on water resources and the local area through science, heritage, and the environment, with the goal of fostering curiosity and eco-citizenship.

Water: a shared resource, a topic for discussion

Changing one’s learning environment means giving oneself the opportunity to take an active role in one’s own journey and to engage with the societal and ecological challenges that affect us, and we are convinced that water embodies this fluidity and this process of transformation.

We offer educational activities at the intersection of three themes related to this element

  • environment,
  • heritage,
  • science and technology.

Water: a changing, shifting, fragile substance. It covers approximately 71% of our planet and is a fundamental resource. It is also an ideal common thread for engaging the public in cross-disciplinary reflections and highlighting its value by exploring its many facets: a shared resource to be preserved, present in every aspect of our daily lives.

Ultimately, we aim to establish a discovery center rooted in its local community, where knowledge, water management, and heritage converge in an immersive, human-scale experience.

Our initiatives:

  •          A collaborative scavenger hunt to explore the Garonne and its traditional trades
  •         A fun, participatory discussion to explore the future of the Canal du Midi. What if the Canal du Midi were to become a freight route again?
  •          What if water were one of the main factors shaping a neighborhood?
  •          The beaver, the “engineer” of rivers, is back at the gates of Toulouse: how can you spot it?
