The Château'roule association was founded in April 2017 by a group of about twenty enthusiasts, driven by the goal of creating a community-based cycling center in Châteauroux.
Create a participatory bike workshop!
We have a participatory workshop for people who want to learn how to repair and maintain their bikes. We accept donations of bikes and parts and have a bike swap where we offer bikes that have been restored to working condition.
Come learn how to repair your bike yourself, find tools to use, get advice from the enthusiasts who will be there, buy low-cost secondhand bikes that have been repaired, and above all, enjoy a friendly time with fellow cyclists!
Create a bike school!
Working with local authorities: Taking the initiative on cycling infrastructure?
Our members ride daily in Châteauroux and have ideas to make it more bike-friendly! We’ll therefore offer our advice to elected officials to improve cycling in the city.
Create a resource center! Especially to find helpful tips such as the most enjoyable cycling routes (urban and suburban), discover maps of the network of bike paths and lanes, and access documentation from cycling organizations in the Indre department...
