AgribioVar: The Association of Organic Farmers in the Var

Founded in 1997, AgribioVar brings together and supports organic farmers in the Var region. Our primary mission is to promote and develop organic farming by collaborating with various stakeholders in the department, including farmers, consumers, elected officials, local governments, businesses, and associations.

Who are we?

AgribioVar currently has 220 members. Our members represent the diversity of the department’s agricultural production, including market gardening, viticulture, livestock farming, field crops, arboriculture, as well as perfume, aromatic, and medicinal plants.

Our missions:

Supporting organic farmers and those in transition: training, specialized support, technical exchange groups, etc.
Defending the interests of organic producers in the Var: specific grants, legal
support Promoting organic agriculture to the general public, agricultural stakeholders, and institutions: “Where to Find Organic Products in the Var” guide, awareness-raising booths, trade shows, market organization, etc.
Facilitating the department’s organic sectors: connecting stakeholders, developing short supply chains, institutional catering, etc.

Our current projects

• The TRANSFEL BIO VAR project: structuring the organic vegetable sector to meet the needs of institutional food service and farmers in the Var.
• The GIEE EPI de BLE collective project: a union of poultry farmers for a collective poultry food production facility
