Wash instead of throw away: that’s our goal. We’ve launched an alternative to single-use glass containers by creating a new reuse loop. This new system brings together producers, retailers, and local governments—not to mention citizens and their common sense :)

Who are we?

The current recycling model has its limits, and our association aims to offer a sustainable, more environmentally friendly alternative. One of our missions will be to coordinate the supply chain, connecting its stakeholders: producers, conscious consumers, retail outlets, and logistics providers. The project is rooted in the principles of the circular economy, industrial ecology, and regional sustainability.
The association’s goal is to become a SCIC (cooperative society of collective interest). Reusing glass saves 33% water, 79% energy, and reduces GHG emissions by 79%, provided it is processed locally and washed multiple times. All of this boosts the local economy.

La Consigne Bordelaise needs your help with handling and collecting bottles!

• Collection: You’ll travel to our partners’ locations using eco-friendly transportation (a cargo tricycle) to collect their returnable bottles.
• Handling: With a little music and some elbow grease, sorting the bottles at our Bordeaux facility ensures they’re sent for washing so they can be resold to businesses and reused!
