Exploring and preserving the natural environment of the Arcachon Bay

Founded in 2016, the Bionav Association is dedicated to exploring and preserving the natural environment of the Arcachon Basin, as well as raising awareness among its members and the public about the importance of safeguarding the natural, maritime, and cultural heritage of this unique area.

 Our missions:

To promote eco-friendly boating through the shared use of electric and/or sail-powered vessels to protect the marine environment from noise, odor, and carbon pollution.

To help people discover and preserve the maritime and cultural heritage of the Arcachon Basin

Organize informational and awareness-raising initiatives, as well as events designed to explore the Bay’s natural environment and heritage: fauna, flora, huts, traditional vessels, shipbuilding, oyster farming, landscapes…

Develop partnerships with local stakeholders:

• SIBA, SMDP, COBAS, COBAN, Pays du Bassin d’Arcachon, SYBARVAL, Regional Shellfish Farming Section,
• Marine Nature Park, SEPANSO, Landes de Gascogne Regional Park, local authorities, tourist offices, E-Marine, and the Bionav Endowment Fund.
