Biomasse Normandie leads various public interest initiatives in Normandy.

Normandy Wood Energy Initiative Program

In response to these significant challenges, the Normandy Region, ADEME, and industry stakeholders have implemented, through a 2024–2026 initiative program, a shared strategy aimed at:

• to promote local resources from forests, hedgerows, and industrial activities (related products, wood waste),
• to facilitate the organization of the supply chain for heating plants and monitor its operations (quantities, fuel types, sources),
• to develop new agricultural and community-based heating plants and monitor the operation of existing facilities,
• to assist and support organizations, project leaders, and industry stakeholders in their initiatives and studies,
• to assist with the planning and monitoring of objectives defined at the local and regional levels: SRADDET, PCAET, etc.

Métha'Normandie Plan

• A program to support and co-develop the biogas sector in Normandy.
• As a leader in energy policy since the NOTRe law, the Normandy Region aims to promote and develop anaerobic digestion. To this end, it has set ambitious goals in the SRADDET.  By 2030, the target for biomethane production is 1,700 GWh (with a goal of 10% biomethane in the gas grid) and electricity production from biogas is 560 GWh.

OBDEC: The Normandy Observatory for Waste, Resources, and the Circular Economy was established in 2004 at the initiative of Biomasse Normandie to monitor waste management across the region.
Its mission: To pool knowledge on waste management and recovery to enable stakeholders in the waste sector to guide development strategies—whether public or private—toward the circular economy: regional data, maps, regulatory, technical, economic, and environmental developments, educational fact sheets, and newsletters.
