Description

ArTex aims to repurpose materials from the cultural and artistic sectors for the benefit of local creatives, whether they are amateurs, enthusiasts, or professionals.

Founded in January 2021, the association has several goals:

- repurpose materials and decor from the arts and culture sector by collecting and reselling them to everyone at the cultural resource center

- to support and raise awareness of eco-creation through the various activities offered at the creative workshop.

Located in the city of Clermont-Ferrand, the Artex project is aimed at all CREATIVES in the region who wish to design and create in new ways using reused materials: individuals, professionals, students, artists, performing arts professionals, artisans, and others.

THE RESOURCE CENTER

  • We collect materials, sets, props, costumes, and stage elements from the cultural and creative industries: museums, film, opera, live performance, events, etc.
  • We resell and rent these items to everyone—individuals and professionals alike—at discounted prices.

A true Aladdin’s cave, you’ll find a wide variety of secondhand items here: textiles, wood, metal, tarps, flooring, stage fabrics, set pieces, unusual objects, and other curiosities!

THE CREATIVE MANUFACTORY

The Creative Workshop is dedicated to offering activities and workshops focused on DIY and creativity to:

  • learning how to use machines and tools: basics of welding, sewing machines, woodworking machines, etc.
  • expressing creativity and experimenting with reused materials: DIY and repair workshops, collaborative projects, creative guidance, etc.
  • renting a shared workspace equipped with professional machines and tools to bring creative ideas to life and experiment with creation and DIY,
  • a team of professionals (set designers, architects, builders, seamstresses, etc.) to design and support projects that prioritize eco-design and the reuse of materials.
