The smallest recycling center in Brittany

Since the summer of 2021, the Rouages resource center has been committed to community-based reuse in the rural Malestroit area.

The association operates on a participatory and collective basis, with community outreach as one of its core values. Every member can participate in various activities and propose new initiatives to the group.

Rouages diverts items from the Sérent waste collection center and repurposes them before selling them in the two downtown shops. The initiative has several objectives:

• to reduce waste;
• to question our relationship with consumption and the environment;
• support the reuse sector;
• to foster social connections and create spaces for knowledge exchange;
• make items accessible to all budgets.

Repair Café: Every first Saturday of the month, at the Repair Café, residents learn how to repair electrical appliances with the help of volunteer handymen.

Sewing Repair: One Wednesday a month, Sewing Repair offers a chance to learn or improve skills through small sewing projects and/or repairs.
