A rural community hub located in northern Libourne that operates a cafeteria using surplus local produce

Welcome to L’Usine Végétale, where you’ll find a wide range of activities and events, as well as a warm welcome from our volunteers and staff. 

Founded in 2018, L’Usine Végétale is a rural third place located in northern Libourne. It is made up of three founding associations: Atelier 209, Cargo 209, and Cantine 209.

Making the most of local production surpluses is at the heart of my work: On October 28, 2025, during the Bordeaux GSEF 2025 World Forum on the Social and Solidarity Economy, Bocal en Vert had the honor of designing an anti-waste vegetarian buffet to welcome several international delegations in collaboration with La Cantine 209 and Patisseries maison à Sablons:  showcasing local vegetables and offering socially conscious, creative, and sustainable cuisine.

CANTINE 209: develops numerous activities to promote healthy, local food, raise awareness about nature and the environment, and provide access to moments of well-being and social interaction. CANTINE 209

• The garden, the community vegetable garden, nature walks and immersions, and participatory projects allow us to discover together the richness of our environment,

Our ÉCLOSION platform holds the Fabrique de Territoire certification and serves as a resource hub dedicated to careers in ecological and social transition and innovation in rural areas.
