Description

Beyond gardening, the association aims to contribute to a shift in our societal model, particularly in the agricultural and food sectors, by collaborating with other organizations and supporting local communities in their efforts

Since November 2020, the City of La Couronne has made a 2-hectare plot of land available to the association for a three-year fertilization project. A planting of 3,000 trees is planned on this land in partnership with Prom’Haies and Charente Nature.

Other gardens managed by the companions:

  • Voeuil and Giget - The Wild Garden
  • Dignac – The Medieval Garden
  • Prefecture – The Biodiversity Garden. The association developed the prefecture’s vegetable garden in 2020 for employees, featuring rainwater harvesting, wildlife shelters, compost, and various raised beds for snack breaks.
  • Ruelle: The association has established a community garden in the town
  • Ronsenac: As part of the Participatory Budget, the association was commissioned to create a “Coopéractif” garden. This site consists of a forest garden, a rainwater catchment area, a diverse hedge, and spaces with useful plants.

Environmental Education

  • SHARING KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: The association organizes various workshops open to the public on natural gardening, wild basketry, plant-based dyeing, grafting techniques, identifying edible and medicinal wild plants, and more.
  • AGRO-ECOLOGICAL TRANSITION
  • PLANT PRODUCTION: The association is committed to providing seeds for propagation, advice, and tools, as well as organizing meet-up days and workshops.
  • COMMUNITY SUPPORT
  • Natural Gardening Workshops – AJN: These workshops introduce permaculture techniques applicable to the garden in a simple, fun, and practical way that members can apply directly at home or elsewhere. They take place in all of the association’s gardens.
  • Professional Training: If you are an elected official of a municipality and would like your parks and recreation department to be trained in proper pruning techniques, please contact us

PROJECT: Farmers’ Workshops

Also currently in development, we aim to collaborate with farmers, market gardeners, agricultural operators, and artisans to co-create equipment perfectly suited to new farming techniques and designed to facilitate improvements and repairs.
