In the Greater Angoulême area, the Icamaga association supports residents, local governments, and organizations in their transition to more active and lower-carbon modes of transportation.
Reducing car use and restoring the prominence of active modes of transportation (walking, biking, scooters, etc.), with the following benefits:
iCamaGA focuses on all forms of mobility (individual, collective, logistics, etc.) and everything related to the organization of public spaces. We apply a “filter” that is as simple as it is effective: “Would I let my 8-year-old child travel there alone?” This 8-year-old child—whether a pedestrian, cyclist, or public transit user—dictates a city layout that proves beneficial for everyone. Speeds are reduced, sidewalks are widened and greened, cycling infrastructure becomes safe and continuous, and public transit is made easy and welcoming… This program is also a necessity to ensure we are not overwhelmed by the climate and environmental challenges of the coming years.
