Description

A Rocha France is committed to the management and restoration of natural areas at two major sites: the Domaine des Courmettes in the Alpes-Maritimes and the Mas Mireille in the Vallée des Baux. These projects combine scientific research, public awareness, and concrete action to protect biodiversity and preserve ecosystems.

Main Objectives

  1. Protect natural habitats: Promote the resilience of local ecosystems by restoring and maintaining habitats for diverse flora and fauna.
  2. Promote sustainable management: Implement environmentally friendly methods while involving local communities.
  3. Raise awareness and provide training: Educate the public about ecological issues through workshops, training sessions, and educational tours.

Management and restoration actions

  • Domaine des Courmettes (Alpes-Maritimes):
    • Biodiversity conservation: Studies on local flora and fauna, management of natural habitats (limestone areas, forests, meadows).
    • Access for all: Marked trails and outreach activities to explore ecology in a unique setting.
    • Educational commitment: Organization of programs and activities focused on climate and ecological issues.
  • Mas Mireille (Vallée des Baux):
    • Biodiversity conservation: Contributing to the management of the Ilon Regional Nature Reserve, managing wetlands on private land, maintaining a network of birdhouses, planting hedges, etc.
    • Scientific research: Monitoring biodiversity and sharing data with scientific and local partners.
    • Local initiatives: Raising awareness among the public and local stakeholders through guided nature walks and special events.
