Structure : Sapocycle

Difficulty level :
SapoCycle transforms used hotel soap into products that help save lives. We are a nonprofit organization that collects used soap from European hotels and resorts and distributes the recycled soap to improve the health and hygiene conditions of children and families in need. People with disabilities are responsible for recycling the soap, which provides them with stable employment.
Once hotels join our program, we provide them with instructions and marketing tools. The hotels collect the used soap. In Switzerland, the soap is picked up by our partner Planzer. In France, hotels send the collected soap directly to the recycling workshops.
For soap recycling, we collaborate with Wohnwerk (Basel, Switzerland) and ADAPEI Papillons Blancs (Alsace, France), two organizations that provide employment for people with disabilities. They are responsible for grating, pulverizing, and transforming used soap into new bars of soap under strict bacteriological control.
Our distribution partners work to improve health and hygiene in developing countries and to deliver toiletries to families in need in France, Switzerland, and abroad. They regularly provide us with feedback on the impact of the distribution.
